Storm Cell (2008)

This one hurt. And I'm usually a sucker for really bad Twister ripoffs made for cable. We've seen this plot before, twice. Estranged parent-child relationship, because said parent is too devoted to chasing that big storm.

Boy A (2008)

This movie surpassed all of my expectations. Not saying it's perfect, but this movie really hits all the right notes. The most notable thing about this movie is Andrew Garfield's performance as Jack/Eric.

Three Monkeys (2008)

Ceylan focuses his camera on four characters, a couple and their son plus the husband's boss, showing how the family opts to stick together by playing blind, deaf and dumb to problems that should in all logic split them apart.

The Handsome Suit (2008)

Handsome Suits might be Japan's answer to Korea's 200 Pounds Beauty, and given the success of the latter movie which deals with women's vanity in wanting to look good, this one is the equivalent, but centered on men instead, denying the focus on groo...

Ricky Gervais - Out of England The Stand-Up Special (2008)

There's something...different about the listening experience when a comedian projects with a British accent; somehow, it makes the story, joke or discussion seem more humorous to me. I discovered this oddity when I first heard John Cleese, but I real...
